Numbers2Excel
Open a spreadsheet someone made on a Mac by turning the .numbers file into Excel
Forpeople on Windows, Linux or a Chromebook who get .numbers files Web
On a Windows laptop, the budget a colleague sent from a Mac as a .numbers file refuses to open anywhere. Numbers2Excel turns that Apple Numbers file into an Excel .xlsx file inside the browser tab, without a Mac or an iCloud account. The privacy page says the default conversion reads the file inside the tab without uploading it, and a normal conversion needs no sign-up.
Each conversion takes one workbook, and its first sheet comes out straight away while the other sheets are unlocked separately. Values and simple formulas usually carry over. Charts and functions found only in Numbers may change or drop out, so the site asks you to check totals before relying on them. A broken or unsupported file shows an error message in place of an empty download.
Good fit if you…
- receive Apple Numbers files but work without a Mac
- need a teacher or client to accept a spreadsheet as Excel
