Turn a file you can't open into a format you can, right in the browser
Forpeople who need a file in a different format now and then Web
The client's slides arrived as an ODP file, which nothing on your laptop will open. Convertany takes an upload of a document, image, audio or video file and converts it on its servers, and the about page mentions more than 300 formats. Video conversions come with settings for quality and codec, and the format pages say uploads are encrypted in transit and deleted after four hours.
Smaller converters handle units, colours, dates, number bases and IP addresses. The text tools change case, encode strings, make hashes and switch between Simplified and Traditional Chinese. An app icon generator turns one square picture into the sets of sizes that the Apple and Google app stores ask for. The site works without an account and comes in 23 languages.
Good fit if you…
- need a file in a format your own software cannot save
- build apps and need every icon size from one picture
