Novastart

Shut the laptop at night, and the next morning starts with the ritual of reopening every window and tab from yesterday. Novastart replaces the usual desktop with one canvas you can zoom and pan across, where each app has a fixed spot. Work and a house move can sit on separate canvases, and each comes back with its apps where you left them.

Under the canvas sits a full operating system, which replaces whatever ran before on a PC with an Intel or other x86 chip. The install page walks through flashing a USB stick and booting from it. A desktop app runs the same system in a window on Windows 10 or 11 or an Intel Mac, with some delay. An Ubuntu package adds it to an existing Linux desktop.

A shared canvas gives each teammate a cursor in their own colour. Anyone can click into a window that runs on a colleague's machine and type there, and the room stays as the team left it. The windows stream peer to peer between the two computers.

Up to 10 AI agents can share a task, each with a visible cursor that never moves yours. The security page says they run on OpenAI's computer-use models, which only see screenshots of the active window. A lead agent splits the job into steps you can edit and hands them to helpers, and a separate check compares a fresh screenshot with the goal before the job counts as done.
