Endpoint Index
Compare small-business antivirus and EDR on sourced prices and lab test results
Forsmall businesses and IT providers choosing security software for office computers Web
Ten vendor pages into the hunt for office antivirus, you have three ways of counting seats and a pile of forms asking for a sales call. In a sortable table, Endpoint Index ranks the security products sold to small firms. Besides plain antivirus, it covers EDR, short for endpoint detection and response, which records activity on each computer so an attack can be traced.
A third group adds a managed service, where an outside team watches the alerts around the clock. The order follows the SMB Fit Score, a number out of 100 from a formula printed on the methodology page. Results from independent test labs carry the most weight, followed by price, how easy the product is for a small team, and feature coverage.
According to the site, the score rates fit for a small-business buyer and leaves absolute protection out of it. Each product report shows the points per component beside a link to the source. List prices, all in US dollars, come from the vendor's own store or calculator at fixed seat counts, each with a dated screenshot.
An automated job fetches every source page once a week and flags changes for a person, who updates prices by hand. Corrections go into a public changelog that names the changed field. Labelled Featured and Sponsor slots, which vendors pay for, sit outside the ranked tables, and under the editorial policy payment has no effect on any score or rank. The full dataset downloads as CSV or JSON, reusable under CC BY 4.0.
Good fit if you…
- are picking security software for a small office and want a source behind every figure
- need dated endpoint security prices and lab results to reuse in your own work
