AskMed

Between two patients, nobody has time to check whether the journal article an AI answer cited for a drug interaction was ever written. AskMed answers clinical questions for health professionals and students from published sources. A numbered citation follows each claim and opens the passage the answer relied on.

For each question, the app first searches a fixed list of medical sources, including PubMed, Cochrane, NICE, WHO and DailyMed drug labels, and leaves general web pages and forums out. When nothing usable turns up, it says so instead of answering from memory. Filters set how many sources an answer cites, between 3 and 12, and which kinds count.

Drug doses are left out on purpose, and the terms describe AskMed as an education and reference tool, with no diagnosis or treatment advice. The privacy page says text from an attached lab report or photo of a printed page is read on your own device, and only that text is uploaded. On the web, the site also runs 11 calculators for clinical scores such as CURB-65 and eGFR.
