The Talent App
Track applicants from application to offer on your own servers, with open-source software
Forhiring teams with a developer who can host software Web
Add one more recruiter to the team, and the hiring software costs more too, because it is usually rented per user. Meanwhile the CVs and interview notes of every applicant sit on the provider's servers. Recruiters follow each candidate from application to offer in software known as an applicant tracking system. The Talent App is one whose code is open under the MIT license, so a company can run it on its own servers and keep candidate data there.
Each job gets a board with columns from applied to hired, and candidate cards move between them by drag and drop. A strip above the board lists next steps like candidates waiting for a decision or interview feedback that is overdue. Applicants use a careers page in the company's colours and follow their status in a portal. Interview emails carry a calendar file for Outlook or Google Calendar.
Self-hosting needs a Supabase project, which supplies the database and the sign-in, and the app itself runs on Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare Pages or your own server. CV reading and drafted interview questions use Google's Gemini and stay off until you add your own key. The pipeline grade and the weekly plan run on fixed rules without AI. Teams that would rather not host it can have the maker set up and run a deployment for them.
Good fit if you…
- want candidate data on infrastructure you control
- have someone who can set up a Supabase project and deploy a web app
