VideoUpscaler
Make a small, soft video clip twice as large without uploading it anywhere
Forpeople with short clips that look soft on a big screen Web
An old phone video looks fine in the palm of a hand and turns to mush on the living-room TV. VideoUpscaler doubles the width and height of a short clip so it holds up better on a larger screen. The privacy page says the processing runs in the browser on your own computer, with the video kept on the device.
You choose a file and drag a divider across a sample frame to compare both versions before saving an MP4. A 1080p clip comes out at 4K, and smaller clips grow by the same factor. The tool reads MP4 files in the common H.264 format and needs a compatible desktop browser. It borrows the computer's graphics chip through WebGPU and WebCodecs, two browser features built for heavy video work.
The site lists damage that upscaling cannot repair, including heavy motion blur and a face that was never in focus. It also suggests watching the exported clip at normal speed. Its guides explain how to tell low resolution apart from compression damage, and the interface comes in ten languages. The legal and contact pages are still marked as pre-launch drafts.
Good fit if you…
- want animation or game captures to stay readable at a larger size
- have a short MP4 clip that needs to look better on a larger screen
