Morie
Remove the wavy rainbow stripes from photos of screens and scanned prints
Forpeople who photograph screens or scan printed pages Web
A quick photo of a laptop screen, taken to show a colleague, comes back covered in rainbow waves nobody saw on the display. These stripes are called moiré, and they appear when two fine grids overlap, for example a screen's pixels and the grid of a camera sensor. Morie finds the pattern with an AI model and removes it: you upload an image and download it without the waves.
The same happens with striped shirts in shop photos and with scanned magazine pages, and the tool covers both. Its descreen mode for scans removes the tiny printing dots of magazines and old prints while headlines and body text stay sharp. A separate video tool takes MP4, MOV or WebM clips filmed off a monitor or phone screen. It works on the clip as a whole, so the shimmer stays down from frame to frame, and the audio is kept.
The privacy policy says uploaded and processed images are deleted after 24 hours by default and are only used to train the models with your consent. Before upload, the browser can shrink a large photo to the plan's size limit or convert it to WebP to save time on slow connections.
Good fit if you…
- photograph screens, monitors or TVs and need clean pictures
- sell clothing online and fight striped artefacts in product photos
