The portfolio template you picked is also on plenty of other sites, and visitors can tell. A bit of motion would help, yet that usually takes a motion designer or learning animation code, a lot of effort for a cursor that sparkles. NoReason's small website effects run from confetti bursts and rainbow trails to a fly that crawls across the page.

Effects come from a catalog of ready-made add-ons, each with a preview. For anything else, the Forge writes an effect with AI from a short text description. Each generated script is tested for runaway CPU use and memory leaks before it goes live, the site says. Switching a script off removes its changes from the page.

To put an effect on a site, you paste a single line of code into the page header. On the visitor's side, a small loader script checks which effects are switched on for the domain and fetches them from Cloudflare's network. The site says the scripts stay under 5 KB and set no tracking cookies.

Colours and speed can be changed later in the dashboard, with no edit to the site. Webflow users can connect their account, and the code is then added to the site footer for them.

Good fit if you…

  • want a playful effect on a site without writing animation code
  • build client sites on Webflow, Framer or Shopify
