SuccessionKeeper
Leave your family a list of where your accounts and pensions are held
ForUK households where one person handles the money Web
Ask a couple where the pension from an old job is kept, and one of them points at the other. That works until the person who knows is in hospital and the family is writing to banks at random. In SuccessionKeeper you note where your accounts, pensions, policies and papers are held, so the people you trust have somewhere to start.
Each entry needs only the provider and the type of account, and numbers or balances can be added later. You can upload a will or a lasting power of attorney, and leave a note on each item about who looks after it. The categories are built around UK products like ISAs and death-in-service cover.
The app checks in with you on a schedule you pick, from monthly to yearly. After a missed check-in a five-week process begins, and your main nominee is first asked to reach you. All nominees receive the summary only after a final warning, and signing in at any point stops it. That summary lists providers and notes, without logins or PINs.
Good fit if you…
- are the one in your household who knows where the money is
- want your executor to have a list of providers without handing over passwords
