Bookkeeping software asks for a CSV file, which is the one format your bank never seems to offer for its statements. Each printed line of the PDF becomes one row of an editable table in StatementCSV. A wrong date or amount can be fixed there before the download. According to the site, the PDF is read inside the browser tab without an upload.
The parser handles text-based PDFs where each line starts with a date and ends with an amount. Statements from Chase, American Express, Bank of America, Citi and Capital One are recognised by name, and all others count as Generic. A preview shows the detected bank and the first five rows. The guides ask you to compare the totals with the ending balance, since a dated balance line can slip in.
