Add up what a banner or decal job costs you and what to charge for it
Forsmall sign and print shops Web
A sign quoted in a hurry pays for the vinyl and forgets the offcuts and the hour on the ladder. At the end of the month, the job has earned less than it seemed. SignPricer gives small sign shops a set of calculators that put those costs into the sum before a price goes out.
The main calculator starts from the finished size and quantity of a job. It then asks for material and ink rates per square foot, waste, hours of labour and machine time, and a share of overhead. You set the price by target margin or by markup on cost, and can add a minimum charge or tax.
The result shows the customer total with a price per square foot, next to a cost breakdown and the formulas behind it. Sizes go in as inches and square feet, and money in US dollars. Everything runs in the browser without an account. The site says the figures you type are neither uploaded nor saved, so an estimate has to be copied out before the tab closes.
Other calculators explain the gap between markup and margin and estimate how much of a vinyl roll a job uses up. Separate pages price vehicle wraps, channel letters, yard signs and installs. An early-access pilot, set up by hand, adds printable quotes with the shop's name and branding.
Good fit if you…
- price sign jobs from memory or an old spreadsheet
- want to see what margin a markup leaves before you quote
