ScormMaker
Turn a PowerPoint deck into a course file your company's learning platform accepts
Forpeople who build staff training from slide decks Web
The company's learning platform has one reply to the finished safety training deck: wrong format. Learning platforms (LMS, short for learning management system) expect a SCORM package, a zip format that also records who has completed a course. ScormMaker turns a .pptx file into such a package inside the browser tab, with a slide preview before you download the SCORM 1.2 zip. The site says the presentation stays in the browser and is never uploaded, and no account is needed.
Text, images, shapes, tables, common charts, themes and backgrounds carry over, and SmartArt appears as the picture PowerPoint stores alongside it. Each slide becomes a static page, so animations, transitions, speaker notes and embedded Excel or Word objects are left out, and audio and video may show up as a placeholder. The package records progress and completion, without quizzes or scores. Step-by-step guides for Moodle and other common platforms suggest a trial course first, because playback depends on how each platform is set up.
Good fit if you…
- have training slides in PowerPoint and need them inside an LMS
- prefer that course files stay on your own computer during conversion
