LangScribe
Study a language line by line from your own videos, with two subtitle tracks at once
Forlanguage learners who study with films, lectures or podcasts Web
Watching a film in the language you are learning works until one line goes by too fast, and the slider overshoots by three sentences. LangScribe is a video player that loops that sentence, or a stretch between two points, as often as you need. It shows the original subtitle and a translation on the same cue, and either side can be hidden to test yourself.
Subtitles come from a file you already have or from AI, which hears the audio in short chunks sent by the browser. The site says the video file is never uploaded. Playback and word lookup work without an account, and your library then stays in the browser. AI subtitles and AI translation need a Google sign-in, and the site warns that names and fast speech can come out wrong.
Good fit if you…
- learn a language from films, lectures or podcasts you already have
- need subtitles in two languages for a video that has none
