Ecommerce Data API
Check demand and competition for an Amazon product idea before you order the stock
ForAmazon sellers who research products with code or an AI coding agent API, Command line, Web
That garlic press looked like a clever first product for Amazon, right up to the search page that listed four hundred more. A seller needs to know whether people search for a product, and how crowded its corner of Amazon is, before ordering stock. Those answers come from Ecommerce Data API as data that a script or dashboard can read.
It is an API, so a program sends a short request and gets the figures back. The 45 endpoints come in groups for products, keywords, whole categories and traffic between listings. A further group searches trademark registers in many countries, which helps before a brand name goes on the packaging. The reviews endpoint returns any product's customer reviews with star filters and verified-purchase markers, across 13 Amazon marketplaces.
Sellers who write no code can install a skill for an AI coding agent such as Claude Code and ask for the data in plain words. The methodology page says unit sales and revenue are estimates from a third-party data service, rather than figures Amazon publishes. Weekly and monthly rankings of new products and climbing search terms are public on the site as well.
Good fit if you…
- want sales and search data on a product idea in your own spreadsheet or tool
- check trademark registers before you settle on a brand name
