daycrumb
Play three short daily puzzles in your browser, from word games to trivia
Forpeople who like a few minutes of puzzling with their coffee Web
Coffee lasts long enough for one quick puzzle and nowhere near long enough for an app download and a sign-up form. daycrumb puts up three short browser games each day, picked from a set of six. You can start playing without an account, and the site says the full set takes about ten minutes.
In Rungs you turn one five-letter word into another by changing one letter per step, with two steps to spare over the shortest route. One More, a trivia game with a gamble, shows a question and nine answers per board, six of which fit. You keep your points or risk them on one more pick. When a board ends, every answer comes with the reason it fits or fails.
New puzzles go up at midnight UTC, the same for everyone, so all scores come from the same puzzles. Past days stay playable in the archive, where they earn half the points and leave your streak alone. Signing in with Google carries the streak and your record to other devices. Every game also works by keyboard, without dragging, and screen readers announce each move.
Good fit if you…
- want a short daily puzzle habit without installing an app
- like to compare the same puzzle with friends
