TrueProxies
Send web requests from home internet addresses in the country or city you pick
Fordevelopers and data teams that collect public web data or check websites by country Web
Why does the same hotel search look different when a friend abroad does it? Websites often show visitors in another country different prices and search results from the ones you see at home. Many also block a program that loads hundreds of pages from one address. A proxy is a middleman that sends your requests out through another internet address. TrueProxies rents out such addresses, mostly ones that belong to home internet connections, so a request looks like it comes from an ordinary household in the chosen place.
Residential plans come in two forms: unlimited plans sold by connection speed and length of time with no cap on data, and traffic packs bought by the gigabyte. The packs never expire and allow targeting by city and by network provider, and the Premium packs add US states. You can let the address change with every request or keep the same one for up to 24 hours.
Two smaller products use IPv6, the newer address format that only some websites support. Residential IPv6 runs on a home internet provider's network in Ashburn, Virginia, with no choice of country. Datacenter IPv6 comes from servers in one of ten cities, picked at checkout.
You connect with a username and password or from a list of allowed IP addresses. The documentation has setup examples for common programming languages and browser automation tools. The site publishes test results per country, including how many of 72 test requests left from inside that country.
Good fit if you…
- need to see websites the way a visitor in a specific country or city sees them
- run large scraping jobs and prefer paying by speed over paying per gigabyte
