Describe Image

Until the alt text for forty new product photos gets written, a screen reader announces each one by its file name. Upload a photo or screenshot to Describe Image and pick the kind of text you need. Its AI then writes a draft from the picture, ready to copy or refine.

Of the 11 output modes, the shortest give alt text or a social caption. Longer ones write product listings or analyse charts, and one turns the picture into a prompt for image generators like Midjourney. Describe All applies one mode to a whole batch of uploads, and a short video gets a timestamped list of its scenes. Results stay on the current page unless you switch on saving to your account.

Text can come out of pictures too: a text-recognition (OCR) mode copies the words from a screenshot, and the site lists 32 languages for it. Next to the main tool, Image to Excel turns a photographed or scanned table into cells you can correct before the XLSX or CSV download.

The Alt Text Checker works on a whole public web page and flags each image whose alt text is missing or empty, with the report as a CSV file. It looks only at the HTML the page first sends, so images that scripts load later are left out.
