A customer has a simple question about an order, an invoice or a credit limit. The answer sits in SAP, but the sales or service person works in Salesforce, so they switch systems just to reply. Those without an SAP login have to ask a colleague. Vigience Overcast shows that SAP data inside Salesforce and lets staff create and change orders and quotes there.
Overcast runs as an app inside Salesforce and uses SAP's standard interfaces, so the SAP system itself stays unchanged. It offers two ways to bring data across: live views that read and write SAP records without copying them, and scheduled syncs for data worth keeping in Salesforce. An SAP system hosted in-house connects through a VPN or through a small agent installed in the company network.
Prebuilt components cover jobs like order entry and field service, and Vigience keeps them working through SAP and Salesforce updates. The site says they cover 80 percent or more of typical requirements. A newer add-on, Vigience MCP, opens the same SAP access to AI agents. Anything the prebuilt parts miss is set up in a point-and-click Component Builder against SAP's public interfaces.
