Tools that show where a website ranks on Google are usually sold that way, so the quiet months cost the same as the busy ones. Each research run in FlexQueries is charged to a prepaid balance shared by the whole workspace. You see what a request will take from the balance before it runs, and work stops when the balance is empty.

The research side covers keyword demand and trends, current and past Google result pages, backlinks and competitor keyword gaps. Site audits read page-level SEO signals, and rank tracking follows positions by market and device. Keyword research also works for App Store apps and Amazon products.

AI chat apps can call the same tools through a hosted MCP server, added in Claude as a custom connector or in Claude Code with one command. The first connection opens a browser login, and new connections can only read saved data until research and changes are switched on. Scripts use a separate REST API with workspace keys and spending limits.

For AI search, a tracker holds up to 25 exact questions and five competitors. It collects answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, and keeps the full text with its sources. Claude and Perplexity answers come through their APIs and are labelled apart from what the consumer apps show. Daily checks are opt-in and stop at a monthly spending cap.
